These two lovebirds met in Tallahassee in 2013 while both attended Florida State University. Nick proposed in 2016 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Wedding plans slowly came together.

“Neither of us had a ‘dream’ wedding in mind, so we took our time, figuring out what we liked and putting the pieces together,” Dan said.

One of the biggest pre-wedding surprises was an entire day of bachelor party-themed games planned by their Best Man and Maid of Honor at a beach house they shared with their wedding party. It was very unexpected and made them feel very lucky to have such good friends.

Their wedding took place Jan. 18, 2020, at The Carriage House in St. Augustine, Fla. The couple’s favorite memory of their wedding day was watching all the guests arrive. That’s when it began to feel “real” for them. They were very excited to see friends and family who traveled long distances just to celebrate their big day with them.

Dan and Nick believe engaged couples shouldn’t rush their wedding plans. They admit there is a lot involved, but say it’s manageable if you establish a timeline with milestones to conquer along the way.

The couple surprised their wedding guests with customized koozies (can coolers) and shot glasses as favors. Their guests loved the koozies and used them throughout the night. The personalized shot glasses were taken home filled with the newlyweds’ favorite candy.
