Formats

Preferred

  • EPS File (Encapsulated Post Script)
  • AI File (Adobe® Illustrator)
  • SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic)
  • PDF File (Portable Document Format)
  • -These VECTOR file formats are preferred allowing for quick turnaround time!
  • -Vector art is created using vector illustration software programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, Freehand, and Corel Draw, among others. These programs use mathematic equations and geometric primitives (points, lines, and shapes) to create art that is clean, camera ready, and can be scaled infinitely, without any loss of quality or fidelity.

Acceptable

  • PSD File (Adobe® Photoshop)
  • JPEG File (High Resolution JPEG)
  • PNG File (High Resolution PNG)
  • TIFF File (High Resolution TIFF)
  • -These files are not preferred but can possibly be converted to useable artwork. Converting or redrawing artwork may add additional days to production and/or incur additional charges (depending on the complexity of the artwork).

Not Recommended

  • Word
  • PowerPoint
  • INDD (Adobe® InDesign)
  • Scanned Images (can be considered, but may not produce a high quality image)
  • Corel Draw (unless converted to .svg)
  • Excel
  • -Unless exported to an EPS or PDF format, these files may incur additional art charges or be rejected.

FILE TIPS

Vector Files

  • Line Art
  • Scalable to any size and never loses resolution
  • Images will stay crisp and clean
  • .EPS, .AI, . SVG, or .PDF
  • Be sure to convert all fonts to outlines or curves
  • Vector files can be submitted at any size and will be scaled to the maximum imprint area unless otherwise specified to us

Raster Files

  • Pixel Based Image
  • Depending on the resolution, image blurs as enlarged
  • For best possible results: Send File at 300 DPI or actual size
  • Thumbnail size JPG, GIF, or PNG files are not at a high enough resolution to be used properly
  • Common raster file formats include .PSD, .JPEG, .TIF, .GIF, and .PNG

Tips

  • Set up file size proportionate to the imprint size on the product you are ordering
  • Convert all text to outlines or curves
  • Please flatten all layers when submitting documents from Adobe® Photoshop
  • We can typeset text and create personalized artwork for FREE!

ONE COLOR IMPRINTS - Screen Printed

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • To upload your artwork you may upload it with your order online in the Upload Artwork Tab within the ordering process or you may send vector art via email to [email protected] with the item number to request a specific template.
  • If you do not have custom artwork you may design your artwork in our Artwork Template gallery in the Product Details section for each item.
  • Minimum 12 pt. font; minimum 18 pt. if reversing from a background
  • Squares and rectangles can appear “bowed” when printed.
  • Circles can appear like “ovals” when printed.
  • Large solid blocks of ink are not recommended because details within the blocks can fill in, the ink can crease if folded or during shipping, and the ink can appear thicker than the rest of the imprint.
  • Long lines of text at the bottom of the imprint area can appear wavy and do not always print well on Indestructible Can Coolers.
  • Minimum line thickness is 2 pt. (Can be checked in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or other programs)

TIPS

  • Review our Low Contrast Color chart to see a complete list of product/imprint color combinations that are not recommended. The Low Contrast Color chart is highlighted and can be found in Step 4 (Choose An Imprint Color) in the ordering process.
  • Scratched fonts do not work well for printing on can coolers. Details often aren't defined when printed.

    Textured Font Unfit for Printing

  • Ink can “puff up” when printed, causing thin lines to drop off. Thin/small text graphics that are reversed out can be lost. Increase the stroke on text being reversed out of a background and any thin lines or text.
    • Original
    • Recommended
  • Recommended: Spacing increased in names, stroke added to tree branches, birds increased in size and stroke increased around birds. Stroke also was added to the date and the “&” symbol.

PRINTING PROCESS

  • Screen printing is used for 1-color imprints on can coolers. The process burns the selected image into a screen that is then positioned on top of each can cooler as the ink is pushed through. The ink is then transferred onto the can coolers in the shape of the image.
    • samples of “PRINT READY ARTWORK” for screen printed items
    • samples of “PROBLEM ARTWORK” for screen printed items

FULL COLOR IMPRINTS - Dye Sublimated

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • To upload your artwork you may upload it with your order online in the Upload Artwork Tab within the ordering process or you may send vector art via email to [email protected] with the item number to request a specific template.
  • If you do not have custom artwork you may design your artwork in our Artwork Template gallery in the Product Details section for each item.
  • Minimum 14 pt. font; minimum 18 pt. if reversing from a background.
  • Have your fonts converted to Outlines in Adobe Illustrator or embedded in the image.
  • Minimum line thickness is 2 pt. (Can be checked in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or other programs)
  • White on black is problematic; the black spreads and can cause white print to “disappear” on the black. Add extra stroke to white artwork to increase the size within the imprint area.
  • Photographs tend to appear fuzzy/muted due to the nature of the dye sublimated printing process on cloth material.
  • Thin text tends to be less defined in black surroundings. We recommend a stroke be added.
  • Square or rectangular artwork can appear off-center. A certain degree of off-centered printing is normal. We recommend eliminating squares or rectangles, if possible.
  • Some can coolers are printed flat and then sewn together on both sides. Artwork will not line up properly if it flows from one side to the next.

TIPS

  • If you have a specific PMS (Pantone®) Color(s), CMYK Value(s) or Artwork that you would like to use, please specify this information under the "Special Artwork Instructions" box in tab where you upload your artwork.
  • We cannot guarantee PMS color matching. If you wish to match a specific PMS color, it must be specified when sending your art. Depending on the item, this may incur an additional charge. Please provide a Pantone® (PMS) Solid Coated Color for the closest match. You may supply CMYK values; however, we cannot guarantee an exact match to that value. For the closest possible match please provide a Solid Coated Pantone® (PMS) color.

PRINTING PROCESS

  • Dye sublimation is used for full color imprints on can coolers. This process involves printing an image onto transfer paper and sublimating or dyeing it permanently into the can cooler material.
